We are on our way to visit life long friends in Wisconsin but we had a few days to kill before we arrived so we stop off at the coolest state park in Oakwood, IL. Kickapoo State Recreation Area.

What a beautiful park this was. We had a spacious site and it was a back in so you are facing the forest and not invading others privacy. We love meeting and visiting with other RVers but everyone also enjoys their down time, right!?

With the busyness of the last few days, it was good to settle in for a few nights. And this was the perfect place. Peaceful and not much traffic so we just chilled.

We did meet a few locals while out walking.

And at the end of our time here we saw this sweet family having breakfast as we were pulling out.

This state park is a must visit if you are in the Oakwood, IL area. Can’t say enough about how nice it was. Bathhouse was clean and plenty of hot water for showers. Grounds are well kept and like I said lots of privacy. Check out the link at the top for more information.
